The task of the skimmer is to automatically clean the surface of the water. BIOTOP's animal-friendly skimmer has been developed especially for the requirements of the Natural Pool. While animals that fall into traditional skimmers have no chance of survival and ultimately drown, in the animal-friendly skimmer, animals that can crawl can free themselves.
The animal-friendly skimmer is constructed so that only the uppermost film of the water surface is sucked up. This takes place by means of the skimmer flap, which always floats directly below the surface. Then the water flows over a strainer insert and is cleansed of rough impurities. Finally, the water is pumped back into the BIOTOP Natural Pool.
