Description:
To utilize the accommodation facilities as much as possible in summertime as well as winter, the town council decided to undertake an unusual project - the Mountain Beach Recreation Park Gaschurn. The focus of the recreation park is on two natural pools, situated on different levels of a slope and connected by a brook. "Rafting" down the brook on air mattresses is THE attraction for young visitors.
Bathing guests reach the bathing areas via wooden docks and shallow pebbled shorelines. Additional attractions are areas for water games, beach volleyball, a diving tower, mesh-fence area, island with hanging bridge, water ferry and water cable car, which bring in guests from near and far. Thus, in its first operating year Mountain Beach Gaschurn was one of the five most popular summer recreation areas in the Montafon region. In winter the ponds are used for ice skating, which keeps the park operating throughout the year.
