The Lenggries community is one of the first ones in Germany that has an award-winning public natural pool. It was not surprising that Fred Fuchs and his company that designed this pool are based in the direct vicinity. Natural pools have been known here for many years now whereas elsewhere they were only recently introduced as an alternative to traditional pools. But let’s go back to the neighbourhood in Lenggries: Mr Fuchs’s neighbour is Veronika Bichler, a hotel manager. So when she took over her parent’s bed and breakfast inn she contracted Mr Fuchs to design a pool for her.
Ms Bichler’s family actively took part in the construction and did a lot themselves. The guests are also convinced about the result. Let’s have a look at one small detail: colourful stones paving the deck give off heat so that everybody can warm up a little after swimming.
It’s been more than one decade since the pool was completed. In the meantime the small bed and breakfast inn has become a countryside hotel.
