Margret and Rudi Kramer‘s “Campingplatz am Bauernhof“(Camping site at the farm) is situated about ten kilometres away from Lake Constance. Even though the next public pool is not more than five kilometres away, the guests said that a pool was kind of missing and that it would make the camping site perfect.
Back then there was no legal foundation or guidelines, nor any models for such a pool on other camping sites in the region. Therefore the local authorities were not really sure what to do about that. It took two years before the project was finally approved and in spring 2003 the planning and construction could eventually start.
Within only three months the Haas Company transformed the basin that was formerly used to produce ice into a 900 m² large, idyllic natural pool. Due to module construction the framework was quickly built with corner elements separating the swimming area from the regeneration zone and made it possible for the owner to do several things the way he wanted them done. He also carried out the excavation works according to precise excavation plans himself. The approximately 100 m² big children swimming section with an artificial sandy beach is particularly attractive for the smaller ones. In the meantime there are legal guidelines for a pool construction. However, this pool has become a model that serves for many other camping sites.
