Description:
In Klosterneuburg by Vienna Martin Czerny built himself his own private dream house, which can easily be called a Gesamtkunstwerk. His ideal, the Renaissance architect Paladio, inspired his planning. The house is built on two axes. One of them goes from the entrance through the house, the dining room, across the terrace, passes through the Natural Pool and ends at the edge of the property. Everything is mirrored, even the trees. And especially the Natural Pond.
The Natural Pool is directly next to the terrace, the flora and fauna in the regeneration zone can be observed up close from the arched bridge and the two docks. Two skimmers and a Biotop carbonator take care of the water quality. The Swimming Area's depth of 4 meters was planned to avoid the water from becoming too warm in midsummer, which is of particular importance due to its high exposure to the sun and additional reflection off the house walls.
