Pool
On the occasion of the “Biotop Natural
Pool Open Day” in mid-June, the most
recent innovation by Biotop Landschaftsgestaltung
was presented: The Biotop Swimming Pool
looks like a traditional pool but operates
like a natural pool. The only difference
is that the new phosphorous filter “PhosTec”
replaces the water plants. This filter is
integrated into the water circulation and
binds the phosphorous dissolved in the water
with a new filter material.
What is so “ingenious” about
the Biotop Swimming Pool is the intelligent
combination of tried-and-true components
from the natural pool system with the PhosTec
pressure filter.

- The curved sieve skimmer
- The submerged pump house
- The biological filter
- The pool robot
- The curved sieve skimmer and the submerged pump house create the first water circuit which runs approximately four hours per day during the season. The pump’s short operating time minimises electricity consumption.
- The biological filter and the PhosTec pressure filter are operated by a second, smaller pump that draws out the water from the bio filter and pumps it into the PhosTec. This pump runs constantly and is located as an individual circulation system in the submerged pump house. The pool robot runs independently and its operating time can be regulated as required.
Any components are concealed under the sun deck elements. This way there is no need for additional space.
The Biotop Swimming Pool is the one extreme, the Natural Pool with no technical equipment the other. In between a varied mix of the many options can now be offered to customers interested in the new technology.
For example, the biological filter concealed under the sundeck can also be provided as a plant filter. This is a very attractive design option, in which the plants are clearly separated from the swimming area. Please find out more about this topic from our info sheet (PDF - 1MB).
“The Biotop Swimming Pool looks
like a normal swimming pool. The deciding
difference is that the Biotop Pool operates
without chlorine or other toxic chemicals.
The water is treated on a purely biological
basis and by means of physical mechanisms,
the water is alive.”
