| Know-How Transfer
Austria UK (and Back) Biotop
does not only provide its partner companies
with sophisticated system components and
know-how for natural pool construction,
but also sends its experienced staff to
provide initial support in construction.
This took place, for example, in England
in the last week of October, where two members
of Biotop’s construction crew, Max
O. and Martin W., supported Woodhouse
Natural Pools in laying the pool liner.
Will Woodhouse has been a partner of Biotop for more than two years and has already built numerous natural pools. Thus, further assistance from Austria in building additional pools wouldn’t really have been necessary. However, a new pool liner was used in England for the first time, which was introduced to the market the previous year and with which Will’s staff had not had any experience yet. Max and Martin (and some family members) flew to England without much ado, and while their families let loose on London, they showed their English colleagues how to lay the liner quickly and correctly. A big advantage is the fact that the liner ca be delivered with a width of four meters (as well as with a width of 2 meters), which makes it easier to lay and reduces welding work. This was much appreciated by our English colleagues. Max and Martin, on the other hand, were much taken with the coffee cups, which always seemed to be within reach. They’re hoping to introduce this idea back home, which demonstrates that know-how transfer is not only a one-way street.
