Biotop Partner Meeting in Istanbul
Focus of the Meeting: The "Living Pool"
There had never been as many participants at the annual meeting of the Biotop partner companies as there were in 2011. This was due to two reasons: the venue in Istanbul was a big attraction for the 51 partners, and then there was the interest in the product Living Pool. This innovation, which has been on the market since 2009, witnessed a breakthrough in 2011. It is not only being keenly observed by colleagues in the natural pool segment, but is also very important for the Biotop Group, due to the fact that Living Pools constitute one quarter of all the pools built.
Almost all 51 partner companies followed the call
to the partner meeting in Istanbul.
After Biotop had garnered several awards itself in the past autumn, one of the purposes of the meeting was also to distribute prizes. The Design Frog King was awarded for the best Natural Pool and Living Pool from among the pools that had made it to the finals, selected by very critical colleagues. As always these prizes were hotly contested.
In the category Natural Pools, this year the Swiss company "egli jona" was clearly ahead and succeeded with a pool that had a difficult slope to overcome. Mr. Egli solved the task by building a double wall in the regeneration zone and a garden house of exactly the same size, which served to house the owner's pool equipment. The jury was particularly impressed with the wide stairway into the swimming area.
In the Living Pool category the initial situation was also challenging for the winning pool. A very small garden was to set the scene for a water landscape for a couple, for which swimming was one of its main priorities. Since there was so little space it absolutely had to be a Living Pool. The company "Lütkemeyer" turned the whole project into nothing less than a small wonder. With just a few accessories they built a screen to the neighbors, which boasted a "water wall" that creates a special effect, particularly once it gets dark.
After two intensive days of meetings, Biotop boss Petrich had another surprise for the participants. He presented the EnergyGlobe Award trophy, which Biotop Landschaftsgestaltung GmbH had just won a few days before as the best environmental project in the province of Lower Austria. Peter Petrich in his concluding statement: "All of our partner companies have contributed to this award by making constant demands on us. But one thing has to be clear. We can never rest and have to put all our efforts into staying the best. In design as well as in implementation and environmental compatibility. Our next goal has to be to have a lower impact on our planet in manufacturing our materials and building our pools."
